United Muslims Launches "United Views"

The United Muslims, a well-known Muslim organization, has announced plans for the launch of its monthly newspaper publication entitled United Views. With the start of this English newspaper, United Muslims hopes to expand on its current media portfolio, which includes Radio Islam Toronto and their new affiliate Radio Islam Ottawa as well as their popular weekly newsletter reaching close to 30,000 people. {a href="http://www.islam.am/uvnews.pdf">more details here}

Stories of U.S. Immigration Woes Warning to Canadians

Theater artist and social critic Kayhan Irani comes to Montreal, Canada, as part of The Infringement Festival, performing her acclaimed one-woman show, “We’ve Come Undone” June 17th and 19th. Written and performed by Kayhan Irani, “We’ve Come Undone” presents the stories of women and girls directly effected by legislation created for the “War on Terror” and who are struggling to make sense of life in an America caught in the grip of uncertainty and doubt.

Muslim Youth Leadership Training Program

The Islamic Institute of Toronto has announced plans for a Leadership Training program for high school and university students.

The program, consisting of two power sessions, is geared at empowerment of Muslim youth for greater involvement in the Muslim Community. Sessions will be conducted by community and youth leaders who have considerable experience in Islamic work.
